18 Intro

The Final Project includes the analysis of two cases. Both are devoted to Regression Analysis. The Cases are described in the following sections 19 and 20. The datasets are available in Excel format at Virtual Campus.

Specific questions are required for each case. Remember to conduct a complete regression analysis with the following steps:

  1. Describe the dataset.
  2. Create a scatter plot of this data and add a regression line.
  3. What is the slope?
  4. What is the intercept?
  5. Is the relationship at least approximately linear?
  6. Test if the slope is significantly different from 0.
  7. Comment on possible assumption violations for the test of the slope.
  8. Predict the dependent variable
  9. Interpret the Coefficient of Determination \(R^2\) and \(\text{Adjusted-}R^2\)

Tips on reporting

  • Do not include every possible chart and frequency.
  • Think back to the key question of interest and answer this question.
  • Briefly talk about every chart and table you include but don’t discuss every number if the table is included.
  • Percentages should be rounded to whole numbers unless you are dealing with very small numbers e.g. 0.01%
